2022-23 Worcester State University Men's Indoor Track and Field News
Westfield, MA — A total of 906 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s 2023 Winter/Spring All-Academic Team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.
Worcester, MA- The Men’s Indoor Track team travelled to Wheaton on Saturday to compete in the Pre-Post Season Invitational. The Men were led by the strong finishes of senior Daniel Clark (Worcester, MA), first years Eliezer Gonzalez (Worcester, MA), James Riley (Shrewsbury, MA) and Taylor Gavaletz (Dudley, MA).
Worcester, MA- The Men’s Indoor Track team travelled to Westfield State on Saturday to compete in the Westfield Invite at Smith College. The team placed 3rd out of the four teams competing for a total score of 71 points. The Men were led by the strong finishes of first year Elvis Velez (Clinton, MA), senior Daniel Clark (Worcester, MA), first year Eliezer Gonzalez (Worcester, MA), junior Jack Houlihan (Rutland, MA), senior Brendan Sharkey (Fort Wayne, IN) and sophomore Brian O’Leary (Marlborough, MA).
Worcester, MA- The Men’s Indoor Track sent a select few athletes to the New Balance Track to compete in the River Hawk Invitational on Saturday. The meet combined programs from across all divisions, as well as allowing for open athletes to compete in a myriad of events on the day.
Worcester, Mass. - Worcester State Women’s Basketball concluded this Saturday’s doubleheader with a battle against the Vikings in MASCAC action at Brissette Court. Sarah Blomgren & Katie Hurynowicz were in the spotlight today as the Lancers took down the Vikings.
Worcester, MA- The Men’s Indoor Track team traveled to Wheaton College today to compete in the Lyon Invitational hosted by Wheaton. Elvis Velez was the dominant force for the Lancers on the afternoon being a dominant presence throughout the meet.
Worcester, MA- The Men’s Indoor Track team traveled to New London, CT today to compete in the Coast Guard Winter Invite. First Year Seth Boudreau (Douglas, MA) and the Men’s 4x200m relay team made up of first year Taylor Gavaletz (Dudley, MA), junior Anthony Paolucci (Billerica, MA), first year Elvis Velez (Clinton, MA) and sophomore Giovanni Casiano (Oxford, MA), led the action for the Lancers in their first meet of 2023.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Indoor Track and Field team travelled to the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston to start their season at the Suffolk Relays. The team were strong competitors throughout the day, securing several top five finishes and wrapped up in ninth out of 15, securing 16 points at the meet.
Worcester, MA- A total of 1,218 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall/Winter 2022 All-Academic that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann. Worcester State led the MASCAC with 190 Student Athletes named to the Fall/Winter 2022 All-Academic Team.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – 27 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been honored for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2023 Winter Sportsmanship Team.
Worcester, MA- Worcester State Men’s Indoor Track sprinter, first year Elvis Velez (Clinton, MA) was named the MASCAC Rookie of the Week after his top finishes at the Westfield State Invitational this past Saturday.
