Shaun McCarthy Named WACBA Co-Player of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. - Worcester State University men's basketball junior Shaun McCarthy (Oxford, Mass.) has been named the Worcester Area College Basketball Association men's Co-Player of the Week. McCarthy shares the award with Nichols College's Marcos Echevarria.

In a pair of conference wins this past week, McCarthy averaged 17.5 points, 10 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Against Framingham State, McCarthy tallied his second double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 points, while adding a pair of blocks and one assist as the Lancers rolled Framingham State, 77-59. Three days later against MCLA, McCarthy recorded 13 points, nine rebounds and two assists.

The honor is McCarthy's first weekly award of the season.

McCarthy and the Lancers men's basketball team are off until Saturday when they will face Fitchburg State, looking to win their sixth win in their last seven games.
