Poitras Named GNAC Rookie of the Week

For the second time this season, Worcester State University freshman Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Golf Rookie of the Week.

WINTHROP, Mass. - For the second time this season, Worcester State University freshman Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Golf Rookie of the Week. The announcement came from the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Poitras tied with GNAC Player of the Week Claudio Soukamneuth for 16th place overall at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championships this past Sunday-Monday on Cape Cod, as the two led all GNAC competitors. Poitras was tied for first place after carding a stellar 73 on day one, before shooting an 84 on day two for a 157. 

It is the second time this season Poitras has won the award. He previously won it on September 24, and won the MASCAC Rookie of the Week award on October 1.
