First Pitch Dinner: This event kicked off the new season. The event was held on January 18 at 6:30 PM at the Tatnuck Legion Post. The guest speaker was former WSU All-American, Eric Swedberg. The team, families, and alumni were all invited to the pot luck dinner.
2012 Review: 15-24 (6-8 MASCAC 5th place)…3 last at-bat wins (So. Maine 2012 LE champ, Brandeis first win on new field, and Fitchburg)…only 2nd time not to make MASCAC Tournament…Bridgewater the regular season/tournament champ…played 4 conference champs and NCAA teams (St. Thomas-CWS, USM, Bridgewater, Trinity)…Young team with first year starters which will pay huge dividends in the near future
Highlights: swept Curry, So. Maine, Fitchburg, MCLA, Fitchburg State; shutout Newbury, 9-0; started season at The Rock in NY vs. SUNY-Purchase and played an epic 11-inning affair in Game 2; also played Bates on turf in CT; Huge sweep of USM behind Bonofiglio and Teal with bases-clearing 2B by Gezotis; Played at Winter Haven Stadium where Major League was filmed against St. Thomas; Walk-off win over Brandeis Bolio GWRBI for first win on new field; Carlier drives in Bolio with winning run in 3-2 win over Fitchburg...First HR at new field hit by Rugga…

Fall Season: Great team attitude from Day One…Ran 4-week/16-practices on the new field…Beat 2012 D2 CWS CCRI and concluded with Blue-Gold World Series (Gezotis-MVP, Ruggiero-Best Defense, Goulden-Top Pitcher)…Ran Golf Tournament (17 golf teams), MIAA Parking, AD calendar, and did Lancer Dreams fund-raising letters…Two former Lancers were elected to the Athletic Hall of Fame (Cean Oksanish & Chad Cosby)…Team visited at practice by Cubs 1B Bryan LaHair and 2-time MLB draft pick Nate Nelson…Community service: 4 camps/clinics (Columbus Day, Sunday BB, Hitting, Pitch-Catch); players volunteered their time at February Hitting Clinic and did field work in the fall
Captains: Congrats to catchers Joe Carlier and Kurt Sabacinski as well as 2B Nick Gezotis for earning the leadership position as the 2013 lancer baseball captains.

2013 Preview: After a successful 4-week fall ball, the team will be young but feisty. Freshmen and transfers expect to play and start. Fall ball MVP was Joe Carlier, Top Pitcher: Alex Teal and Best Defense Dave Ruggiero.
Catchers: Joseph Carlier, Brandan Hoyle & Kurt Sabacinski. IFs: Sabacinski, Nick Gikas, Dave Ruggiero, Nick Gezotis, Zach George, Dan Ubele, Matt Leahey, Steve Wallace, Dennis Duplessis. Pitchers: Alex Teal, Nick Bonofiglio, Joe Piscitelli, Mike Ivas, Jared Kuzio, Joe Perlak, Cody Osburn, Derek Cole, Rob MacDonald, and Ben Libuda. OFs: Brian O'Connor, JD Salinas, Jeff Boilo, Jake Sanderski, Steve Fitzmaurice, and Cory Loomer.
Coaches: Welcome Bob Sterner! Also, welcome back Rick Smith (Pitchers) and Peter Fenuccio (Catchers). Returning also is Dave Wigren (14th year).
