WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State University baseball team has scheduled their season opener for Tuesday (Feb. 2) where they will match up against Fisher College for a 2:30 p.m. start time at the New England Baseball Complex (NEBC) in Northborough, Mass.

"With beautiful weather scheduled for Groundhog Day we decided to try and play a game outside," stated head coach Dirk Baker. "You never know with this Northeastern weather, so we have to play when we can."
"We have a full slate of games in Northborough in March, so if the Texas teams can play now why can't we?" commented Baker.
Following their contest against Fisher, the Lancers will resume their season on March 5 when they travel to SUNY-Purchase for a doubleheader beginning at 11:00 a.m. From there, they will then return to the NEBC for a number of regional non-conference games.
