CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second consecutive year, Worcester State University tight end Jacob Maher (Marshfield, Mass.) was named to the All-New England Team by the New England Football Writers. The announcement came from the association late Monday evening.
Maher led the Lancers in every major receiving category this season, with 47 catches, 615 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns in 10 games played. The junior criminal justice major had a pair of two touchdown outings, first in Worcester State's loss to Salve Regina to open the season, and again two weeks later in the Lancers' victory over Fitchburg State.
Maher will be honored for the accomplishment at the New England Football Writers Captains and Awards Banquet on Thursday, December 6, at Rosaria Restaurant and Function Facility in Saugus, Mass.
