Davis Nabs Third MASCAC Award of the ’21 Season
WESTFIELD, Mass. – For the third time this season, Worcester State wide receiver Ke’Vaughn Davis (Utica, N.Y.) has been selected by the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) as the Rookie of the Week.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – For the third time this season, Worcester State wide receiver Ke'Vaughn Davis (Utica, N.Y.) has been selected by the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) as the Rookie of the Week.
The awards were selected and announced by the conference office on Sunday afternoon. Davis was named Rookie of the Week on September 19th, and earned both Rookie and Offensive Player of the Week honors on September 5th after the season opener.
This weekend, Davis posted his third 100+ yard receiving game of the season in the Lancers' 49-13 setback against Bridgewater State.
Davis caught nine passes for 112 yards, an average of 12.4 yards per catch. He had a 34 yard long reception, and also caught the second score of the day for the Lancers.
The sophomore wide-out leads the MASCAC with 115 receiving yards per game, the only student-athlete averaging more than 100 yards in the conference. He is second in the conference in receptions (32) and receptions per game (6.4), and his five receiving touchdowns is tied for second in the league.
Davis and the Lancers will be on the road this weekend, travelling to Buzzards Bay for a 12:00 PM showdown against Mass. Maritime.
