How it Happened:
The Blue and Gold looking to avenge a heartbreaking homecoming loss last year to the Owls would get into a defensive battle early on into the contest. Both defenses would hold their ground in the first but the second the Owls would snag a field goal and a touchdown off a 6 yard jet sweep to see the Lancers trail 10-0. The Blue and Gold were ready for the challenge as junior Gavin Hatfield (Lexington, MA) would house it 98 yards to put the first points on the board as they went into the half down 10-6.
Second half would see deja vu from the Lancers defense as they would force a fumble early on in the third quarter which was recovered by sophomore Cam Goodrich (Spencer, MA) who would house it to take the lead for the Lancers 13-10. Two drives later, the Lancers would force another turnover, this time by senior Aaron Becker (Natick, MA) forcing the third fumble on the Owls in the contest. Senior Cam Ayotte (Millbury, MA) and company would answer the forced fumble and go to work setting up junior Jermaine Norfleet (Agawam MA) to punch it in for the score from a yard out to regain the lead for the Blue and Gold. The Owls would answer the challenge and go on a 14-0 run shutting down the Lancers offense, and providing Worcester with two points late off a bad snap on their punt attempt to set up the Owl's 31-22 victory.
What's Next:
