Worcester State Field Hockey Announces 2025 Season Schedule
Worcester, MA- After a season removed from the inaugural MASCAC Championship title, the Worcester State Field Hockey team, led by third year head coach Sophia Monopoli, is pleased to announce the 2025 schedule. The Lancers finished last season as the fourth seed in the MASCAC tournament with an 8-11, 6-4 record before falling to Westfield, the ultimate MASCAC Champions, in the MASCAC semifinals 1-0. The Lancers look to avenge the loss this season and return to the NCAA tournament. Worcester will be led by a trio of powerful seniors in Charlotte MacGregor, Allison Keenan and Maggie Nailor who have been a power trio for the Blue and Gold over the last four years.

"We're very excited for the 2025 season. We have many players returning who we expect to have a significant role this year with their experience gained from last season" says Monopoli. "The team put in so much hard work this spring to prepare for the challenges ahead and we can't wait for August already!"
Worcester will begin their season with a quick trip down the road on August 3oth versus Clark University before hosting their home opener on September 2nd versus the Wheaton Lyons. The Lancers will be back on the road on the weekend with a trip to Keene State on September 6th before hosting Springfield on September 11th.September 16th will find Worcester meeting at WPI before their first go at revenge in their conference opener on September 20th versus Westfield State. September 23rd will be the first home conference meeting for the Lancers as they welcome Fitchburg State, with their last meeting leading to shootouts in a competitive battle between the teams. In the First weekend home game of the season, the Blue and Gold will host Framingham State in an early morning bout before closing out September with a trip to Salem State on the 30th.
Taking a step away from their conference schedule, Worcester State will welcome Southern Maine on October 2nd before a Homecoming battle with the new conference addition Anna Maria on the 4th. Worcester will be back on the road on October 7th to face Bridgewater State before returning home to repeat the conference schedule leading off with Westfield State on the 14th. The Lancers will then return to the road to face Fitchburg State on the 18th and continue the road trip to October 21st at Framingham State. The final three games will see Salem State in Worcester on October 25th before Worcester journey's to Paxton to face off with Anna Maria on the 28th. The lone regular season November battle will close out the season with a final night battle that will also honor the seniors on the 1st as they face off against the Bridgewater State Bears.
