Worcester, MA- After a 2-1 week that saw the Lancers jump above .500 in conference play the Lancers were awarded their first MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week award in Field Hockey. After claiming her first collegiate career shut out sophomore Lizzy MacDonald (Medford, MA) was selected for the honor.
MacDonald recorded her first two career shutouts with 12 saves, an .800 save percentage and 1.00 GAA in a 2-1 week for the Lancers. Made seven stops for her first shutout in the 6-0 win over Salem State. Added a stop in the 5-0 victory over Anna Maria. More crucial was her non-statable defensive plays that slowed down and stalled the offensive pressure against all three opponents on the week.
The Lancers are back in action tomorrow when they head to Bridgewater State to take on the Bears for a 7pm meeting.
