Bjorn Named 2023 MASCAC Tournament MVP, Player of the Week

Worcester, MA- Worcester State Men’s Basketball graduate student, Erik Bjorn (Holden, MA), was named the 2023 MASCAC Tournament MVP and Player of the Week for the MASCAC after a stellar performance in both tournament games.

Bjorn averaged 17 rebounds, 5.5 points and 2.5 assists to earn Tournament MVP accolades as the Lancers claimed the 2023 MASCAC Tournament crown defeating Westfield State 65-53. He grabbed 24 rebounds with five points and three assists in the win over Westfield State in the title game while adding six points, 10 rebounds and two assists in the 74-56 semifinal win over Fitchburg State. Bjorn is just the second Worcester State player to achieve both 1,000 rebounds and 1,000 points during his career. Bjorn currently sits at 1,068 career points and 1,009 rebounds.
