Lancers Men's Basketball Claim 3rd in MASCAC Preseason Poll
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Basketball team, after finishing last season 13-14, 9-3 in conference, have been selected third in the MASCAC Preseason Coaches Poll as voted on by the conference coaches. Worcester State claimed the third seed in the conference championship last season, ultimately falling to two-seed Salem State in the MASCAC Semifinals.

Worcester State claimed the third seed in the conference championship last season, ultimately falling to two-seed Salem State in the MASCAC Semifinals.
Claiming the top spot in the poll with 52 points, and five first place votes is Westfield State with the Salem State Vikings claiming second with a total of 40 points, and a single first place vote. Sharing the third-place honor with the Lancers is Bridgewater State who claimed 36 points, but also the final two first place votes.
The Lancers, who also claimed 36 points, return Camdyn Shoesmith who was second in the MASCAC with a 56.5 field goal percentage and offensive rebounds with 83. He also averaged eight points per game with 192 rebounds and 26 assists.
In the fifth slot sits Framingham State with 23 points, while Fitchburg takes sixth with 16 and Anna Maria in seventh with 13. MCLA wraps up the voting with eight points for the eight seed.
The MASCAC men's basketball teams return to the hardwood over the next few weeks with their opening non-conference contests with the conference schedule starting in January. Follow all the games at mascac.com.
