Final
Worcester State: 73
Framingham State: 65
How It Happened:
While Framingham would have the initial action in the game Worcester quickly made their presence known on the court. Sophomore Joe Okla (Worcester, MA) would open the action with junior Ethan Daleba (Dorchester, MA) adding additions of his own to get the excitement flowing. A back and forth game would kick off in the first half with each team trading baskets and leads until the final seconds. From the line is where the Lancers really shined as they sank 13 out of 16 free throws to claim the 33-30 lead after the opening 20.
Okla would again get the ball rolling for Worcester, but the Rams came out of their halftime break with renewed energy and went on a 17 point unanswered swing to put Worcester on the defensive and force and restructure to reclaim the energy. Down 11 would not sink Worcester as they continued to chip away at the seesawed score. Worcester's persistence found success as Okla reclaimed the lead at 51-51 with just over eight minutes to go. With the game back to status quo, the action reverted to the script of the first with each team claiming shares of the lead. With under two minutes to go, the two teams would be in a tight battle for the victory. Senior Johnny Annan (Worcester, MA) hit some crucial layups and free throws to provide a slight lead cushion for the Lancers as the clock steadily clicked down. Worcester aimed for the free throw success of the first half late to secure the road victory. The success would be found late in the final minute as all the plays seemed to go Worcester's way highlighted by a Daleba layup and dunk to grab the double digit lead that would carry Worcester through the conclusion as they took home the 73-65 final.
