Okla Claims Double MASCAC Honors with Player and Rookie of the Week
Worcester, MA- After an exciting 1-1 week for the Worcester State Men's Basketball team, sophomore Joe Okla (Worcester, MA) was double honored for his work on the week with the MASCAC Player and Rookie of the week award. This is the fifth time this season that Okla has been named the MASCAC Rookie of the Week.
Worcester, MA- After an exciting 1-1 week for the Worcester State Men's Basketball team, sophomore Joe Okla (Worcester, MA) was double honored for his work on the week with the MASCAC Player and Rookie of the week award. This is the fifth time this season that Okla has been named the MASCAC Rookie of the Week.
Okla averaged 23 points, 15.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.5 steals and shot 82.6 percent from the floor (19-23) in a 1-1 week for the Lancers. Finished with a double-double of 26 points and 15 rebounds with three assists and three steals in the 101-93 win over Bridgewater State. Had another double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds with two assists and two steals in the double OT 102-99 setback to MCLA. On the season thus far, Okla has recorded 299 points with 160 rebounds, 31 assists, 29 steals and two blocks. Okla has also recorded six double-doubles on the season.
The Lancers are back in action this Wednesday in their White Out Game versus Wesfield State at 7:30pm.
