Worcester State’s Jezierski Headlines GNAC Men's Golf All-Conference and Sportsmanship Teams
WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s Mike Jezierski (Thompson, Conn.) headlined the 2016 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men’s Golf All-Conference and Sportsmanship teams, as announced by the conference Tuesday (Nov. 15) afternoon.
WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's Mike Jezierski (Thompson, Conn.) headlined the 2016 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Golf All-Conference and Sportsmanship teams, as announced by the conference Tuesday (Nov. 15) afternoon.
The junior golfer was tabbed the GNAC Golfer of the Year after claiming the individual title on Oct. 16 at the GNAC Championships hosted by Southern Maine at the Gorham Country Club. The Thompson, Conn. native carded a 146 (74-72) in two rounds for the win. Jezierski was also named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
Joining Jezierski on the All-Conference team is Worcester State's Steven Ferraro (Leicester, Mass.) who tied for second place on a 148 total at the GNAC Championships.
Saint Joseph's College of Maine head coach Jamie Smyth has been voted the 2016 GNAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year after guiding the Monks to the GNAC Championship crown.
SJC receives an automatic NCAA Tournament bid next spring by virtue of clinching the conference championship.
Smyth's program saw three student-athletes receive All-Conference honors as well, as Michael Caron, Cam Letourneau and Adam Hachey finished in the top-five with Jezierski and Ferraro.
Saint Joseph's of Maine was also awarded with the GNAC Men's Golf Institutional Sportsmanship Award. For the 2016 Men's Golf All-Sportsmanship selections, please see below.
