Fitchburg, MA --- #5 Worcester State was blanked this evening at the Wallace Civic Center by fourth-seeded Fitchburg State, 3-0. Senior Chris Wallin wrapped up his Lancer career tied for 42nd on the all-time scoring list with 58 points in the setback.
Auburn, MA --- Senior Nick Asterito recorded the game-winning goal with 15:28 in the third period to help lift Worcester State to a 3-2 regular season-ending triumph over Salem State in MASCAC men’s ice hockey action at Horgan Rink. Freshman Taylor Fant also stopped 38 out of the 40 shots he saw this evening.
Auburn, MA --- Senior Chris Wallin recorded five points with one goal and four assists while freshman Mark Owen tallied the game-clinching marker as they both helped lead Worcester State to a 6-3 victory over Westfield State this evening. Junior John Cahalane also sent in his team-leading 15th marker in the triumph for Worcester State.
Auburn, MA --- Fitchburg State defeated Worcester State, 5-2, this evening in MASCAC men's ice hockey action at Horgan Rink. Junior John Cahalane and freshman Brendan Galley each would notch markers in the setback for the Lancers.
New Bedford, MA --- UMass Dartmouth used a four-goal uprising in the second period to help lead them to an eventual 7-0 triumph over Worcester State on this evening in MASCAC men's ice hockey action. UMD ouscored the Lancers, 39-18 on the evening while junior Bryan Kalczynski stopped 28 shots in the defeat.
Framingham, MA --- Worcester State lost this evening 1-0 to Framingham State in men's MASCAC ice hockey action. Junior Bryan Kalczynski was the tough luck loser as he stopped 30 of the 31 shots he saw this evening as the only marker he let up was a second-period tally.
Auburn, MA --- Junior teammates John Cahalane and Nick Asterito each tallied a goal and an assist to help lead Worcester State to a 5-2 triumph this evening over cross-town rival Assumption in non conference ice hockey action. Asterito became the 41st player to reach the 60-point milestone for WSU.
Plymouth, NH --- The Worcester State ice hockey team was shutout this evening, 6-0, on the road in MASCAC men's ice hockey action this evening. The Panthers outshot the Lancers, 29-17, as WSU could not take advantage of five power play opportunities.
Salem, MA --- Salem State used a trio of goals in the third period to help the Vikings defeat Worcester State 5-3 this evening in MASCAC men's ice hockey action this evening. Junior Nick Asterito recorded two of WSU's three goals in the setback.
Worcester, MA --- Former Worcester State Ice Hockey standout and current assistant coach Marvin Degon was recently inducted into the inaugural class of the Worcester Ice Hockey Hall of Fame. The class was introduced at the January 22nd Worcester Sharks game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Westfield, MA --- Senior defenseman Chris Wallin had two goals and an assist and Ryan Quirk recorded three helpers to lead Worcester State to a 6-2 men’s ice hockey victory over Westfield State this evening in MASCAC men's ice hockey action.
Fitchburg, MA --- The Falcons scored four of their six goals off of power plays to help lead them to a 6-1 triumph over Worcester State this evening in MASCAC ice hockey action. Sophomore Tim D'Orazio netted the lone marker in the loss while junior Bryan Kalczynski collected 39 saves.
Auburn, MA --- The visiting Corsairs scored a trio of goals in the third period to shutout Worcester State, 3-0 this evening. Junior Bryan Kalczynski collected 31 saves in the losing effort while the Lancers are now 4-4-1 in MASCAC play.
Auburn, MA --- Framingham State scored the game-winning goal with 1:02 left on the clock to defeat Worcester State, 3-2 this evening. Down 2-1 entering the third period freshman Derek Serbon tied the score up for the Lancers at the 13:37 mark.
