Lancers Men's Ice Hockey Claim Fourth in MASCAC Preseason Poll
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team was selected fourth in the MASCAC Coaches Preseason Poll as voted on by the coaches. The Lancers finished last season 11-13-2, 8-8-2 in conference, and claimed the fifth seed in the MASCAC tournament, falling to eventual MASCAC Champions Fitchburg State in the Quarterfinals.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men's Ice Hockey team was selected fourth in the MASCAC Coaches Preseason Poll as voted on by the coaches. The Lancers finished last season 11-13-2, 8-8-2 in conference, and claimed the fifth seed in the MASCAC tournament, falling to eventual MASCAC Champions Fitchburg State in the Quarterfinals.
Fitchburg claimed the top spot in the poll with 46 points and five first place votes with Anna Maria in second with 43 points and two first place votes. Salem State sits in third with 40 points just ahead of Westfield and Worcester State.
Westfield would split fourth with Worcester with 27 points, who are led by Anders Grongstad who collected 18 points on eight goals and 10 assists which included a game-winner last season.
Rivier finished in sixth with 17 points with MCLA taking home 13 points just ahead of Framingham State at 11 points.
The 2025-26 season begins next weekend with non-conference action for the MASCAC teams and league play beginning the middle of November. For all the game schedules, scores, stats and recaps, use mascac.com.
