Final- Shootouts

MCLA: 1 (1)
How it Happened:
It would be a quiet start to the action for both teams as the Lancers and Trailblazers each looked for a crucial early win in conference play. It would be an evenly matched battle between both teams with the Trailblazers getting the first shot off, but Worcester would answer back quickly and begin an offensive struggle matched with a tough defensive wall. Five minutes into the second period found MCLA taking the goal lead. Worcester would continue to pressure but the defensive wall of the first period remained intact, pushing the 1-0 score into the second intermission.
The third period would bring the Lancer success as junior Matt Lombardi (Hudson, MA) would find the net and tie the game up with just over 3 minutes remaining off a perfect dish from sophomore Cam Quigley (Quincy, MA). The solid defense would force away the Trailblazer counter and see Worcester in yet another overtime battle in their young season. Overtime would start out slow for both teams as they are unsuccessful in finding the back of the net. For the third time in four games and the second time straight in conference Worcester would move into shootouts where their woes continued, falling 0-1 in the action.
Junior Donovan Alfama (Douglas, MA) would record 41 saves in the night's action.
What's Next:
