Bio

Aidan Abolfazli was announced as Worcester State's head men's soccer coach in November 2020.

In only his second season Abolfazli lead the their program to their first NCAA appearence since 2016, with a Penalty Shoot-Out Victory over Bridgewater State to claim the 2022 MASCAC Championship. The Lancers remained unbeaten in conference play, with an overall record of 10-4-7, 4-0-3, and recorded 10 shut outs over the course of the season. The team recorded a .99 GAA and had three named to MASCAC All-Conference Teams. 

During Abolfazli first season as head coach, he led the Lancers to a 3-11-1 overall record and went 2-5 in the conference leading the the team a quarterfinal appearance in the MASCAC tournament.  

Abolfazli came to Worcester State after spending a year and a half as an assistant coach at Rhode Island College. His primary role on the staff was goalkeeping. Under Abolfazli’s lead in the 2019 season, Anchormen goalkeepers combined for a 10-7-2 record in goal with four shutouts, a 1.44 goals against average, and a .789 save percentage. At season’s end, the Little East Conference announced Abolfazli and the rest of the staff the Coaching Staff of the Year.

Abolfazli also served as the assistant athletic facilities/events manager at RIC.

Prior to his time at Rhode Island College, Abolfazli had stops at club team GPS Fortis and his alma maters, Doherty High School and Franklin Pierce University.

At Franklin Pierce, Abolfazli was a four-year member of the Raven men’s soccer program, recording a career goals against average of 1.33, with a .743 save percentage and one shutout. He was a Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection each of his four years at Franklin Pierce.

He graduated from Franklin Pierce with a bachelor’s degree in sports and recreation management in 2017, and completed his master’s of business administration degree from Franklin Pierce in 2019.
