MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Worcester State's Sam Weeks (Methuen, Mass.) topped the shot put competition at the Wesleyan Invitational II with a distance of 14.69m.

 

Freshman Anthony Christo (Peabody, Mass.) came in behind Weeks in the shot put with a distance of 13.66m at 3rd and Jacob Roumanos (Whitman, Mass.) came in 4th place at 12.83m. Weeks and Christo also topped the weight throw competition with 2nd and 3rd place finishes at 15.86m and 14.19m, respectively. Christo qualified for Division III New England's in the shot put, while Weeks qualified in the weight throw.

 

Duy Truong (Worcester, Mass.) placed third in the 60 Meter hurdles with a time of 8.71. Daniel Ross (Foxboro, Mass.) marked a second place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.89m, qualifying for Division III New England's. Markiesh Harmon (Leominster, Mass.) and Elijah Mawejje (Woburn, Mass.) came in 4th and 5th with distances at 1.83m.

 

Scott Page (Baldwinville, Mass.) marked a second place finish in the pole vault event with a height of 4.10m. Harmon placed second in the long jump (6.43m), while Mawejje came in 6th at 6.00m.Tyler Nims (Ashburnham, Mass.) and Andre Ipojuca (Saugus, Mass.) placed 7th and 8th in the triple jump with distances of 12.02m and 11.95m, respectively.

 

Truong and Charles Newman (Westfield, Mass.) placed 10th and 11th in the 60 Meter Dash. In the 200 Meter Dash, Benjamin Dussault (Assonet, Mass.) landed 5th place, while Newman followed right behind with a 6th place finish.

 

Anthony Lawson (Randolph, Mass.) placed fifth in the 400 Meter, while Harmon and Mitchell Cupp (N. Attleboro, Mass.) placed 8th and 9th in the 600 Meters. Joseph Grider (Hopedale, Mass.) placed 5th in the 800 Meter Run, and Patrick Scheeler (Wakefield, Mass.) placed 4th in the 1000 Meter Run.

 

Devin Luce (Milford, Mass.) came in 7th in the 1000 Meter Run and was the first Lancer to cross the line in the mile run with a time of 4:45.39 at 5th place.
