Gibson Posts Fastest Time In 110 Meter Hurdles, Moves On To Saturday's Finals

Canton, NY –- Senior Terrence Gibson (Rockland, MA) clocked a 14.17 in the trials for the best time in the 110 meter hurdles on the second day of the NCAA Division III Championships hosted by St. Lawrence.

With the fastest split in the third race of the preliminary round, Gibson bested two-time defending champion, junior Luke Campbell (Brunswick, MD) of Salisbury who had a 14.23 as the winner of the second heat in second place.

The winner of each heat of the trials and the next fastest five times earned spots in the finals.

Gibson will earn a preferred middle lane entering the finals of the 110 meter hurdles tomorrow at 2:05 PM. His time this afternoon is the third fastest that he has put up on the campaign and a new facility record at the Merrick Pinkard Track & Field Complex.

The only other competitor to reach the finals representing a New England institution was junior Conor Murtagh (Walpole, MA) of Bridgewater State, who was seventh (14.52).  

Gibson looks to capture his second career All-American accolade in the 110 meter hurdles and fourth of his career on Saturday.
