Boudreau and Jacques Lead Lancers at MASCAC Championship

Worcester, MA- After a successful season prepping for the MASCAC Championships the Men's Outdoor Track and Field team came prepared to make their mark on the day. Leading the way for the men was sophomore Seth Boudreau (Douglas, MA) and junior Brodie Jacques (Rehoboth, MA) who each came away with a top finish on the day and leading the men to a fourth place finish at the Championship.

Jacques would get his day started in leaping fashion as he grabbed second in the long jump with a 6.76m mark that also put him as #74 in the NCAA for DIII in the event with his new season best. Boudreau would join Jacques in the event claiming ninth on a 5.72m leap. Additional in the jumping pit would be first year Pius Baidoo (Worcester, MA) who would claim sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.70m.

In the throwing circle the Lancers would continue to show the strength they have had all season as junior Max O'Connor (Dedham, MA) would land in fourth in the discuss at a distance of 40.65m just edging out senior Jack Houlihan (Rutland, MA) at 39.06m who fell to sixth in the event. First years Garrett Papierski (Webster, MA) and Daniel Butler (Tyngsboro, MA) would claim 15th and 16th with a 32.50m and 31.79m mark respectively on the day. Houlihan would grab the sixth spot again, this time leading the pack in the hammer with a 41.42m mark. Houlihan would land just two spots ahead of fellow senior Matthew Long (East Bridgewater, MA) who recorded a 36.24m measurement. Papierski and O'Connor would round out the group claiming 10th and 11th with 33.99m and 33.63m marks. Papierski and O'Connor would also team up in the shout put claiming 13th and 15th with 11.23m and 10.93m measurements at the meet while Long would grab ninth in the Javelin with a distance of 38.54m 

Boudreau would lead the spring unit with a first place finish in the 100m with 10.69 second finish that would place him at #28 in NCAA DIII in the event while Jacques would come in second with a 10.72 and see him currently in #42 as each recorded new personal bests on the day. Jacques would continue the speed dominance in the 200m claiming first on another personal best 22.10 while Boudreau would claim seventh with a 22.56 for his second personal best of the day. 

In the distance game, first year Jacksen Bolduc (Auburn, MA) would cross in 11th at 4:40.87 while senior Matt Talbot (Belchertown, MA) would finish in third in the 3,000m Steeplechase earlier in the day in a time of 10:47.97. Talbot would return to the distance track for the 5,000m at the end of the meet, this time claiming seventh with 17:44.33 while sophomore Alex Matsuyasu would take home 10th with a 18:33.33. 

The relay squads for Worcester would have a strong showing as the 4x100 unit of Baidoo, junior Nicholas Violette (Webster, MA), first year Nolan Clarke (Mansfield, MA) and junior Giovanni Casiano (Oxford, MA) would take home third with a time of 45.49. Adding to the top finishes was the 4x400 squad of junior Brian O'Leary (Marlborough, MA), first year Jax Christman (Lancaster, MA), senior Anthony Paolucci (Billerica, MA) and sophomore Alan Gomez (Clinton, MA) would take home fourth on a 3:53.88.

The squad returns to action next Friday when they journey to Holy Cross for the first day of the NCAA DIII Regional Championship.
