Boudreau and Brown Lead Lancers Charge at Massasoit Classic
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State University men’s indoor track & field team delivered a well-rounded performance at the Massasoit Classic, hosted by Springfield College, highlighted by top finishes, strong depth across the sprints and middle distance events, and solid efforts in the field.

On the track, first year Youness Chahid (Revere, MA) led the way in the middle distances with an impressive third-place finish in the 600 meters, crossing the line in 1:31.49. He was joined by a strong showing from junior Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA), who placed fourth in 1:33.01, while first year Ryan Wing (Barre, MA) rounded out the scoring group in fifth at 1:33.41. Senior Patrick Harvey (Holden, MA) added a seventh-place finish in the event to cap a productive day for the Lancers.
In the sprints, first year Jarrett Brown (Milford, MA) highlighted the 60 meters by advancing to the finals and finishing seventh overall with a time of 7.31. Brown also contributed in the horizontal jumps, placing ninth in the triple jump (11.83m). The 200 meters saw multiple Lancers in the mix, paced by senior Seth Boudreau (Douglas, MA), who finished 11th in 23.63, while sophomore James Almeida (Auburn, MA) posted a 19th-place result.
The 400 meters produced solid freshman performances from first years Kendrick Adusei (Worcester, MA) and Taylor Feliciano (Milford, MA), who finished 12th and 15th respectively. Adusei later returned to anchor the Lancers' top 4x400m relay.
Distance events continued to be a strength for Worcester State. In the mile, graduate student Alexander Lucier (Gardner, MA) finished seventh with a time of 4:47.33, while first year Andrew Feinblatt (Framingham, MA) placed 11th. The 5,000 meters featured a pair of top-five finishes, as first year Liam Dietz (Longmeadow, MA) earned fourth in 18:16.66 and senior Alex Matsuyasu (Newton, MA) followed closely in fifth.
The Lancers' field athletes also made their presence felt. Boudreau recorded a fifth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.26 meters. In the throws, junior Garrett Papierski (Webster, MA) continued his strong season with a seventh-place finish in the shot put (12.58m), while senior Kelvin Paulino-Acosta (Sutton, MA) placed fifth in the triple jump at 12.46 meters. Junior Andrew Lucier (Gardner, MA) led the way in the weight throw with a 12th-place finish.
Worcester State closed the meet with competitive relay performances, led by the 4x400m squad of first year Kendrick Adusei (Worcester, MA), Keenan Ansah, sophomore Cole Berriault (Wareham, MA), senior Alan Gomez (Clinton, MA), and first year Michael Osei Tutu (Worcester, MA), which placed fifth in 3:45.79.
Worcester State is back on the trail next weekend with the Reggie Lewis Open and Mary Grinaker Invite.
