Men's Cross Country Top 30th Finish at NCAA Division III Regional
Worcester, MA- In the final meet of the 2025 season, the Worcester State Men’s Cross Country team travelled north to Hopkinton Fair Grounds in Hopkinton, NH to compete at the NCAA DIII New England Regional. Leading the Lancers was Liam Dietz who finished in a time of 28:49 for 144th place.

The Worcester State men's cross country team capped off its 2025 campaign with a determined and competitive showing at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship, finishing 28th overall and showcasing the depth and grit that has defined their season.
Close behind Dietz was sophomore Dan Smith (Medway, MA), continuing his breakout season with a strong 147th-place finish in 28:54, helping Worcester State maintain early momentum in the team standings.
Graduate student Alex Lucier (Gardner, MA) stepped up in championship fashion, crossing in 29:30 for 158th, providing key veteran leadership in his final regional appearance. Junior Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) followed with a resilient performance, finishing 170th in 30:04 and contributing crucial points to the Lancers' team total.
Rounding out Worcester State's top six were senior Alex Matasuyasu (Newton, MA), who clocked 31:34 for 193rd, and junior Patrick Harvey (Holden, MA), who battled through the course for a 200th-place finish in 33:09.
The Lancers demonstrated strong pack running throughout the race, keeping their scoring spread tight and showing poise against one of the deepest fields in the region.
