Adamuska Claims MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team had one named to the MASCAC weekly awards after this past week of action. First year Amanda Adamuska (Dudley, MA) was named the Rookie of the Week by the MASCAC for her second time this season. The Softball team went 2-2 on the week and moved to 7-5 in the MASCAC.

Adamuska batted .800 (4-5) with a walk and two runs scored with a .833 on-base percentage and .800 on-base percentage in two games for the Lancers. Was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a RBI in the 4-2 win over Gordon and finished with two hits in the 2-0 setback to Bridgewater State.

Teammates junior Emily Bartlett (Lowell, MA) and sophomore Abigail Koziol (Lunenburg, MA) were named to this weeks MASCAC honor roll. Bartlett finished with a 1.85 ERA with seven hits, three earned runs, 16 strikeouts and five walks in a 1-1 week for the Lancers. Pitched a one hitter with 12 strikeouts and two walks in the 1-0 victory over Bridgewater State. Allowed six hits and three earned runs with four strikeouts and three walks in the 4-2 setback to Gordon.

Koziol batted .385 with a double and RBI in a 2-2 week for the Lancers. Went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the 4-2 setback to Gordon. Was 1-for-3 with the lone RBI in the 1-0 win over Bridgewater State.

The Lancers are back in action Saturday when they host Mass Maritime at noon in a double header set. Saturday’s games will be played in honor of senior day.
