Lancers Sweep Vikings in Conference Battle
Worcester, MA- with just a few hours after wrapping up a sweep over Emmanuel the Worcester State Softball team (7-11, 0-2) jumped back into action. This trip saw them back in conference form looking for their first win as they headed to Salem State to square off with the Vikings in doubleheader action.

How it Happened:
The lancers would start strong with a run in the first as senior Emma Lapoint (Westfield, MA) singled with a senior Bella Gasbarro (Leominster, MA) double bringing in the first run of the game.
It would be a quiet second for both teams before Worcester would add some support with a senior Carisa Andres (Medford, MA) single sent across Gasbarro for the 2-0 lead in the top of the third. Senior Bailey Tammaro (Fitchburg, MA) would single to send across senior Morgan Keefe (Dracut, MA). An error would bring junior Cali Brouillard (Millbury, MA) to first and provide the time for first year Zoie Stevens (Claremont, NH) to add a fourth run to the tally before graduate student Amanda Adamuska (Dudley, MA) would bring home Andrews for the 5-0 lead.
The game would remain settled until the final out as Worcester claimed the 5-0 opening victory.
Junior Taylor Coonan (Grafton, MA) would go seven full innings in the shutout win with three strikeouts.

How it Happened:
Game two was a slightly different script as both teams remained scoreless through two innings until the Lancer made solid contact in the third. Gasbarro would go deep into center field to bring Adamuska after Brouillard Preston the Adamuska single for the 2-0 lead.
The bottom of the sixth would find the Vikings cut the lead in half but would be unable to cut in deeper before the Lancers came away with the win at 2-1 over the Vikings.
Junior Peyton Maloney closed out the game with seven innings of action and seven strikeouts.
What's Next:
The Lancers (9-11, 2-2) take a few short days until they are back home on Tuesday to host Framingham State at 4pm to remain in conference action form.
