How it Happened:
Junior Taylor Connan (Grafton, MA) and the Lancers defense made quick work of the top first as they kept the Rams scoreless. Senior Emma Lapoint (Westfield, MA) would start the action going as she singled down the right field line before fellow senior Belle Gasbarro (Leominster, MA) would send a dinger up the middle. Senior Morgan Keefe (Dracut, MA) would look to replicate but the Rams pitcher made the play to get her out at first. First year Zoie Stevens (Claremont, NH) would make it a third straight at the pitcher, this time a quick reaction would prevent further damage then an additional single and a Lapoint run. Senior Camden Heenan (Webster, MA) would drill it to up the middle for the fourth straight in that location and a Gasbarro score.
The Rams would grab a run back at the top of the second to cut the score to 2-1.
Senior outfielder Bailey Tammaro (Fitchburg, MA) kept the Lancers hot in the bottom of the second with a drive to left center field to hit the wall with a lead off double. Junior outfielder Cali Brouillard (Millbury, MA) keeps the ball in the infield and gets safely to first base to give the Lancers first and second base runners. Grad student infielder Amanda Adamuska (Dudley, MA) hits a drive into left field to send both Tammaro and Brouillard to home plate and she gets safely onto second base, giving the Lancers a 4-1 lead with no outs on the board. Gasbarro gets an RBI single into right field to have Adamuska safely in home plate, giving the Lancer a 5-1 lead. Senior infielder Morgan Keefe keeps the Lancers rolling and hits a shot into the outfield to allow first and second base runners. The inning would end on the Rams converting a double play, and Lancers to maintain a 5-1 lead after two innings.
After two Rams got on base with hits, Connan pitched three straight strikeouts with various pitches to escape the inning with no more earned runs in the top of the third inning.
In the bottom of the third inning, senior outfielder Carisa Andrews (Medford, MA) hit a slow roller to keep it in the infield, but Andrews beat the throw to get safely to first base. Andrews followed that up with a stolen base shortly after, and then Tammaro hit a ground ball to the shortstop, which then she got safely on first base as well. A Brouillard hit was driven into center field to send Andrews to home plate and Tammaro over to third base, giving the Lancers a 6-1 lead in the bottom of the third. Adamuska steps up to the plate and hits another drive into center field to earn an RBI double, with Tammaro heading to home plate, and Brouillard over to third base, which would give the Lancers a 7-1 lead and one out on the board. Lapoint drove a sac fly into center field, which would send Brouillard into home plate, and give the Lancers a 8-1 lead.
After a scoreless 4th inning and top of the fifth inning, Andrews laid down a bunt and got safely to first in the bottom of the 5th inning. Following that, Tammaro followed it up with a second bunt, and an error on the throw to first base, gave each runner an extra base for second and third base runners. Brouillard walked on the next at bat, giving the Lancers loaded bases with no outs. Adamuska would nail a ground ball into the rightfield, sending Andrews across for run number nine and the end of the game on the eight run mercy.
Coonan would go the complete five innings allowing just a single earned run and striking out nine in the game.

Great defense by the Rams would help them to end the inning with no runs earned, and a tied 0-0 at the end of the first inning.
A tough top of the second inning for the Lancers with some fielding mistakes, brought the score to 5-0 in favor of the Rams. First year pitcher Taylor Stuart (Sterling, MA) checked onto the mound for the Lancers to clean up the inning, as the Lancers look to make a push in this game.
Rams got on the board again in the top of the third inning, making the total to 6-0, and then more great hitting and base running made the score to 8-0. Coonan came back in for game two and made her first appearance in game two, and helped the Lancers close out another tough fielding inning.

Stevens hit the ball to the shortstop, and with a bobble from the shortstop, it got Keefe out at second and Stevens safe at first. The Rams got the bases loaded in the top of the sixth inning, and with a line drive into center field, Tammaro threw a deep ball into home plate and got the runner out from center field, helping the lancers get the much needed out. Another bad fielding inning sees the Rams score a few more runs, adding to the total being 11-1.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Keefe leads off for the Lancers and earns the walk to first base. After two flyouts, Andrews swung on her first pitch and hit the ball into the outfield for a base hit, advancing runners to first and second.
