How it Happened:
Worcester went on the attack quick in game one action as Gasbarro would double to left center to record her 100th and 101st RBI of the season and send across Lapoint and senior Amanda Adamuska (Dudley, MA). First year Zoie Stevens (Claremont, NH) singled down the left field line to send Gasbarro home for the 3-0 lead. Senior Carisa Andrews (Medford, MA) would grab two bases to advance Stevens and score senior Morgan Keefe (Dracut, MA) before Tammaro would go for the sacrifice fly to bring Stevens home and the 5-0 lead in the first.
The Falcons would get a single run back in the bottom of the inning but Worcester would reclaim the five run lead at the top of the second as Lapoint crossed off a Falcons error. The third would again see Worcester on the mark as Tammaro hit a triple to send in first year Mackenzie Roy (Fitchburg, MA) before junior Cali Brouillard (Millbury, MA) would ground to bring in Tammaro for an 8-1 lead.
The fourth would find Stevens doubling to left field to send in Keefe as a Roy ground out would send home Stevens on the error. Tammaro would nail her career 100th hit for a triple to send in Andrews as Brouillard singled up the middle for a Tammaro run for the 12-1 control.
The fifth inning would see each team battle with Worcester grabbing one further run on a Stevens single to right field sending in Lapoint and Fitchburg grabbing two runs back in the bottom of the inning before Worcester found the third out for the 13-3 game one victory.
Maloney would record seven strikeouts for her career 200th in the victory.
