Worcester State Women’s Basketball Honored in WBCA Academic Honor Roll

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Basketball team was honored by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association for their academic record during the 2021-22 season. The team maintained a 3.55 GPA and was named one of the Special Mention schools by the WBCA in Division III for their academic achievement.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women’s basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2021-22 season is the 27th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

This year’s release also marks the first year in which all teams which qualified for the top 25 rankings with the minimum 3.0 GPA also are recognized for their academic accomplishment.

“Congratulations to our players who have achieved success on the court and especially in the classroom” praised Head Coach Karen Tessmer.  “I'm proud of their efforts to work hard academically and represent Worcester State University as one of the top teams academically in Division III this past season.”
