Worcester State Women's Basketball Claims Fifth in MASCAC Preseason Poll
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Basketball has been tapped 5th in the MASCAC Preseason Coaches Poll as selected by the conference coaches. The lancers finished last season 9-16, 3-7 in conference, falling as the fifth seed to #4 seed Westfield State in the MASCAC Quarterfinals.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Basketball has been tapped 5th in the MASCAC Preseason Coaches Poll as selected by the conference coaches. The lancers finished last season 9-16, 3-7 in conference, falling as the fifth seed to #4 seed Westfield State in the MASCAC Quarterfinals.
Bridgewater State claimed the top spot in the poll with 49 points and seven first place votes, followed by Framingham State in second with 43 points and a first-place vote. Westfield State finished in third with 33 points with Salem State claiming fourth with 30 points.
Worcester State sits in fifth place in this year' poll, with 27 points. Hannah Lomonaco returns as point guard for the Lancers after averaging 9.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game while shooting 69.3 perfect from the charity stripe. She also collected 110 assists, 30 steals and five blocks.
Sitting in sixth in Anna Maria with 21 points while Fitchburg State claims 14 points and MCLA wraps up the poll in eighth with seven points.
The MASCAC women's basketball teams return to the hardwood over the next few weeks with their opening non-conference contests then after the new year, the MASCAC schedule will begin. Follow all the games at mascac.com.
