Worcester State Women's Basketball Announces 2025-26 Schedule
Head Coach Karen Tessmer, in her 32nd season at the helm of the Worcester State Lancers is pleased to announce its 2025-26 Basketball Schedule. The Lancers finished last season 9-16 falling to Westfield State in the MASCAC Quarterfinals. Worcester brings a depth of new talent to pair with skilled returners in an effort to lead the Blue and Gold to the MASCAC Championship. The Lancers will be led by senior Hannah Lomonaco, 2024 MASCAC Rookie of the Year Lena Waldron, and junior Alana Smith, last year’s leading rebounder.

“Even though we will be road warrior’s 1st semester it will give us an opportunity to learn roles and build team chemistry on the court. We will be well prepared for MASCAC play in 2026 and we can’t wait to see how the new additions will complement our experienced returners. This is going to be an exciting team to watch develop throughout the season!”
The Lancers will begin their season at the 44th annual Worcester City Tournament hosted by Clark University over November 7th and 8th. Worcester opens up day one of the tournament with a meeting against cross town rival WPI before facing off against either Anna Maria or Clark on day two. The 12th will find the Lancers continuing their opening five game road trip with a journey to Wellesley and following up with a meeting with Lasell on the 14th. Worcester will have their last of the five-game road stretch with a trip north to New England College on the 18th. The home opener will be held on November 20th with the Lancers hosting Dean College on Brissette Court, before competing on the road for the remainder of 2025. The Blue and Gold will travel to Keene State and Springfield College on the 25th and December 2nd before a trip to Lexington, KY for the Gratz Park Private Wealth Holiday Tournament on December 29th and 30th hosted by Transylvania University.
The turn of the year will bring the Lancers back home as they kick off their conference schedule on January 7th with the return of MCLA to the schedule. Worcester will then head on the road for a quarterfinal rematch with Westfield State that weekend. January 12th will bring hundreds of Worcester City elementary school students to Brissette as Worcester once again hosts their annual Math Madness game, this year against the visiting Emerson Lions. After hosting Fitchburg State on the 14th, the Lancers travel east for conference games vs. Framingham, January 17th and Salem State, January 21st. The inaugural conference meeting between newly added conference foe Anna Maria and Worcester will be the final home game of January, with the two teams meeting on the 24th. WSU closes out their January action with trips to Bridgewater State on the 28th and begins the second round of the conference schedule with a meeting at MCLA on the 31st.
The first game of February will return the Lancers to Brissette Court for a White-Out Game versus Westfield State on the 4th, followed by a road game at Fitchburg on the 7th before they return to host Framingham State in their Play4Kay Breast Cancer Awareness game hosted on February 11th. Alumni Day for former women’s basketball players will be Sat. Feb. 14th with an alumni game taking place prior to their matchup with Salem State. The final two games of the year will see Worcester travel up the hill to Anna Maria on the 18th before holding their Senior Day Game on Feb. 21st versus Bridgewater State.
