Smith Named MASCAC Player of the Week
Worcester, MA- With thrilling upsets and dominant play, the Worcester State Women’s Basketball team claimed not only a 2-0 week on the schedule, but junior Alana Smith (Chicopee, MA) was named the MASCAC Player of the Week.
Worcester, MA- With thrilling upsets and dominant play, the Worcester State Women's Basketball team claimed not only a 2-0 week on the schedule, but junior Alana Smith (Chicopee, MA) was named the MASCAC Player of the Week.
Smith averaged a double-double of 10.5 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the floor (6-12) in a 2-0 week for the Lancers. Finished with a double-double of 10 points and 21 rebounds along with two assists and a block in the 76-59 win over Westfield State. Added 11 points, six rebounds and an assist in 17 minutes of action in the win over Fitchburg State.
On the season Smith has recorded five double doubles with a total of 193 points and 177 rebounds on the year. Smith has also recorded 28 assists with 19 steals and 15 blocks.
Worcester State Women's Basketball is back in action on Wednesday when they host Framingham State at 5:30pm on Brissette Court.
