Conway and Bateman Named ECHA Players of the Week
Worcester, MA- Two Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team had two named ECHA Player of the Week after their 2-0 week. The Lancers brought home their first victory of the season with a 5-4 OT win over Nichols college followed the next day by a 3-2 victory over Plymouth State.
Worcester, MA- Two Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team had two named ECHA Player of the Week after going 2-0 in their first two games of the season. The Lancers brought home their first victory of the season with a 5-4 OT win over Nichols College, followed the next day by a 3-2 victory over Plymouth State.
Graduate Student forward Clare Conway recorded four goals and one assist over the two wins for the Lancers. She had a hattrick and assist in the victory over Nichols College before adding an additional goal over Plymouth State. Conway know has a career total 23 goals and 16 assists for 39 points in her career as a Lancer. Conway previously played for Becker College where she tallied 25 goals and 32 assists for 57 points.
First year Jennarae Bateman notched her first career collegiate goal on Saturday night when she knocked in the first of three goals at Plymouth. Her assist on the night came in process of helping to knock in the game winner to secure the second win for Worcester State. Bateman now has one goal and one assist on her young collegiate career.
The Lancers end the week 2-0 and play next on Friday, November 4, at Castleton St. with puck drop scheduled for 6pm.
