Lee and Ryan Honored with ECHA Weekly Awards
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team had two named to the ECHA Player of the Week after their 2-0 week that saw them travel to Wilkes-Barre, PA to take on Wilkes University in a two-game set. The Lancers came away extending their unbeaten streak to seven straight games.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team had two named to the ECHA Player of the Week after their 2-0 week that saw them travel to Wilkes-Barre, PA to take on Wilkes University in a two-game set. The Lancers came away extending their unbeaten streak to seven straight games.
Senior Amber Lee (Fairlawn, NJ) was named the ECHA Goaltender of the week after her 21 save performance in her shutout win in game one versus the Colonials. She recorded a perfect 1.0 SV% and 0 GAA on the weekend. Lee has recorded 446 saves thus far this season, with a save percentage of .943% and a 1.87 GAA.
First year Cailey Ryan (Acton, MA) scored the game winning goal on Saturday in the team’s 4-1 victory in Pennsylvania. The game winner, was Ryan’s first goal of the season for the Lancers, in a game where she also went 6-10 on draws. Ryan now has one goal and four assists on the season for five points.
Worcester State returns to action on Friday when they host Curry in a Friday Night, 7:10pm, puck drop.
