Bio

Johnson, a standout leader and accomplished student-athlete from Springfield College, brings a strong blend of coaching experience, leadership, and player development expertise to the Lancers program. She currently coaches with Lax Plus in Windsor, Connecticut, where she works with athletes of various ages and skill levels. Known for her detailed practice planning, high lacrosse IQ, and ability to connect with players, Johnson has developed a reputation for fostering both individual growth and team success.

At Lax Plus, Johnson leads practice sessions for more than 20 athletes at a time, implementing offensive and defensive concepts such as even/odd situations, tight-space decision making, screening, and small-sided competition progressions. She has coached multiple youth and high school teams, creating game plans, coordinating substitutions, and building confident, competitive teams.

Johnson’s impact as a player at Springfield College was equally impressive. A two-year team captain, she helped lead the Pride to two NCAA Tournament appearances and a NEWMAC Conference Championship. She graduated as the program’s all-time career assist leader and earned multiple accolades for her leadership, competitiveness, and commitment to her teammates, including:

  • Springfield College Women’s Lacrosse All-Time Career Assist Leader (2020–2024)

  • Two-time Team Captain (2022–2023, 2023–2024)

  • NCAA Tournament Appearances (2021–2022, 2023–2024)

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Johnson is deeply committed to service and community engagement. She is the founder of Homemade Hugs, a charity providing fleece blankets to pediatric patients at UMass Memorial Hospital, and has volunteered with Special Olympics Connecticut since 2019.

Johnson holds a B.S. in Health Science (Pre-Occupational Therapy) from Springfield College and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy, expected in 2026. She is certified in BLS/CPR/AED and is an active USA Lacrosse coach member.
