Condon Named MASCAC Rookie of the Year, Four Named to MASCAC All-Conference

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Soccer team wraps up their fall season with a strong showing in All-Conference voting. First year Erin Condon led the way as she was named Rookie of the Year by the MASCAC Women's Soccer coaches for her impressive performance this season. Condon was also named First Team All-Conference along with senior Kristen Beidleman (Holliston, MA). Hailey Skowronski (Douglas, MA) and Haley Mignon (Tewksbury, MA) were each awarded with Second Team All-Conference honors.

The All-Conference teams are voted on by the coaches in the conference at the conclusion of the regular season and were announced Tuesday afternoon.

Erin Condon of Worcester State was voted the 2022 MASCAC Rookie of the Year. The freshman from East Bridgewater, Mass. finished the season second on the team in goals with seven while assisting on four more for a total of 18 points. In the 3-0 win over Salem State, Condon found the back of the net twice, one of which was the game winner, in the win while also netting a goal and assist against Westfield State in October. Condon has been honored by the conference twice this season with Rookie of the Week honors.

Joining Condon on the MASCAC First Team is senior defender Kristen Beidleman, who was a second team selection last year, who was an instrumental force on defense and midfield for the Lancers. Beidleman closed out her senior season with three assists for three points having started all 18 games this season on defense. Her presence and leadership in the backfield were essential as she played a key role in every game and helped to secure four shutouts on the season.  

Senior midfielder Hailey Skowronski was named, for her second year in a row, to the MASCAC Second Team after a one goal and six assist season for the Lancers. Skowronski started all 18 games for the Lancers in the midfield. Her distribution and movement off the ball was the key point in Worcester's successful transitions on the field. Joining Skowronski as a first time MASCAC All-Conference selection is senior Haley Mignon whose hustle could not be ignored on the field this season, appearing in all 18 games with 16 starts. Mignon ended her season with 11 goals and five assists for 27 points, which has her seated at third in the conference in goals and fifth, behind Skowronski, in total assists leaving her in fourth for overall points. Mignon also netted two game winners on the season with goals against MCLA and Keene St.

With the contributions of this All-Conference group the Lancers finished their season 6-10-12, 4-3 in the MASCAC, defeating Framingham St. in the quarterfinals to advance to the MASCAC semifinals for their 19^th straight postseason appearance.
