Worcester State Women's Soccer Lands in Fourth in MASCAC Preseason Coaches Poll

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Soccer team has been tabbed to finish fourth in the 2023 MASCAC Preseason Poll as voted on by the conference coaches. The Lancers fell in the MASCAC semifinals to eventual champions Westfield State in a 2-0 loss. Worcester finished their season 6-10-2, 4-3 in the MASCAC to claim the fourth seed in the tournament, a position the Lancers will look to advance beyond this year.

Westfield claimed the top spot in the preseason poll with eight first place votes for 47 points. Following in tournament finish order, Fitchburg State claims the second spot with two first place votes and 41 points. Just edging out Worcester State into the top three is Bridgewater State with one first place vote and 38 total points.

Sitting in fourth is Worcester State with 34 points. Looking to continue her rookie year success is Erin Condon, who finished the season second on the team in goals with seven while assisting on four more for 18 points to earn 2022 MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors.

Coming in tied the fifth spot with 22 points is Framingham State and Salem State, while the seventh and eighth spots were claimed by Mass. Maritime and MCLA.

Worcester State Women’s Soccer kicks of the Worcester State 2023-24 Athletics season when they host Wheaton for a 4pm pass back on Coughlin Memorial Field.
