Mensah Leads Women's Track & Field to 3rd Place MASCAC Finish

Providence, RI - The Worcester State women's Track and Field team posted a 3rd place finish at the 2018 MASCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships held by host Rhode Island College.  The women finished in 9th place in the Alliance portion of the meet.

Worcester State first year Bernice Mensah (Worcester, Mass) earned the trifecta earning MASCAC championship accolades in the 60 meter, Long Jump and Triple Jump.  Mensah led a trio of Lancers in the 60 meter as Worcester State took the top three spots with a time of 8.09. That finish was good for 5th in the Alliance. In the Long Jump, Mensah posted a leap of 5.29 meters (5th Alliance) and in the Triple Jump she went for 11.03 (3rd Alliance).  Mensah also scored in the 200 and 4X200 relay.

The Lancers will continue their championship season this weekend at Springfield College for the DIII New England Championships.
