Buabeng, McFadries, Mensah, Murdocca Named MASCAC Champions on Saturday

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Worcester State University's Doreen Buabeng (Worcester, Mass.), Stephanie McFadries (Burlington, Mass.), Bernice Mensah (Worcester, Mass.) and Justine Murdocca (Milford, Mass.) helped their team to a second place finish at the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) as they all were named outdoor track & field champions in their respective events on Saturday.

RECAP

Worcester State University's Buabeng and Murdocca were named MASCAC outdoor champions in running events, McFadries was named the MASCAC javelin throw champion and Mensah was the triple jump champion. Murdocca logged a personal best in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 39:15.92, which was good for both the MASCAC and Alliance titles. McFadries also was tabbed both a MASCAC and Alliance Champion.

All three Worcester State Relay teams earned second place finishes at the event to tally 24 points towards the Lancers' 168 team total.

Freshman Asgerdur Jana Agustsdottir (Akureyi, Iceland) claimed second place in the high jump, fourth place in the long jump, and fifth place in the 100 meter hurdles with a personal record time of 15.13.

Kelsey Bedard (Leominster, Mass.) and Courtney Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) each registered second place finishes in their events, while Hannah Lochiatto (Harvard, Mass.), Abigail MacGregor (Salem, N.H.), Megan Rouillard (Barrington, N.H.) and Rachel Stier (Mansfield, Mass.) marked third place finishes.

Next weekend, the women's team heads to MIT for the Division III New England Championships.
