Lancers Compete at New England DIII Indoor Championship
Worcester, MA- The Lancers sent a small but mighty contingent to the New England DIII Indoor Track and Field Championship Sunday where senior Seth Boudreau (Douglas, MA) and the relay forces combined for a strong showing.
Worcester, MA- The Lancers sent a small but mighty contingent to the New England DIII Indoor Track and Field Championship Sunday where senior Seth Boudreau (Douglas, MA) and the relay forces combined for a strong showing.
Boudreau would double up on his events for the day as he claimed 15th in the 60m with a time of 6.99 seconds before finishing in 22nd on a 5.99m jump in the long jump. On the distance track side the 4x800m team of first years Andrew Feinblatt (Framingham, MA), Lincoln Schiller (Uxbridge, MA) and Ryan Wing (Barre, MA) raced alongside graduate student Alex Lucier (Gardner, MA) and junior Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) for a time of 8:31.17 to finish in 16th place.
For the women, the 4000m and 4x800m distance relay group of seniors Leah Berg (Worcester, MA) and Bridget O'Malley (Leominster, MA), first years Tamara Ayala-Garcia (Lawrence, MA), Janine Betcher (Fontana, CA), Candace Carr (Upton, MA), Anna Serafini (Leominster, MA) and sophomore Samantha Edwards (East Longmeadow, MA) would finish in 19th with a time of 13:47.13 in the 4000m. The 4x800 contingent would claim 21st in a time of 10:21.73 to close out their time in the track.
Worcester will now begin to shift their focus to their outdoor season at the end of March when they journey to UMass Dartmouth to start their season.
