How it Happened:
In a battle for post season seeding implications the Lancers and AMCATs would battle it strong across the pitch. Each team had some great chances to get a score on the board early but the tenacity on the field was strong, keeping those chances from being converted to goals. About halfway through the opening period, Anna Maria would use a break in action prior to a corner, to set up a perfect set piece that would see them head in a cross that would sail just over the leaping hands of junior Tobias Schneider for the 1-0 lead. Worcester's junior Dylan Verby (South Setauket, RI) would just miss the equalizer as would fellow junior Nick Guidi (Wilbraham, MA) whose attempt knocked off the cross bar and out of play.
The second half would continue to be a back and forth battle with Worcester fighting for the chance to tie it up. They would edge out the AMCATS in shot attempts recording seven to their six but the goalkeeping of Anna Maria prevented Worcester from finding the tying goal and ultimately falling 1-0.
Schneider wrapped up the game with six saves in the action.
