With that quick goal Worcester would settle in for the action manage to kill of a powerplay and anchor down their defense with Czerniawski making just 13 saves and Senior Lea Gaspar (Chelmsford, MA) a blocking menace on the ice alongside junior Fiona Hatton (Homer, AK).
In an even balanced third period, with the Lancers marching the Amherst's intensity, but an aggressive play by Czerniawski would see ACH team with a player in the box with the Mammoth's already serving one would look to give Worcester a solid chance, but in ensuing chaos Amherst managed to sneak in the short handed goal for the 4-1 lead.
