Serafini Leads Lancers at Pop Crowell Invite

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Cross Country team was back on the course this morning at Gordon College to compete in the Pop Crowell Invite. The Lancers were led by first year Anna Serafini (Leominster, MA) who finished in 34th place helping to contribute to the team score of 181 for Worcester.

Serafini, with a time of 26:21.57,was followed across the finish by sophomore Samantha Edwards (East Longmeadow, MA) just over two seconds behind for 35th. Senior Leah Berg (Worcester, MA) would finish in 41st in a time of 26:42.89 with senior Kelsey Gendreau (Seekonk, MA) claiming 45th with a time of 26:54.61. The final point gather for Worcester was first year first year Cadence Carr (Upton, MA) who finished in 56th in a time of 27:34.16.

Crossing just outside of the front pack was first year Janine Betcher (Fontana, CA) in 67th and senior Aubrey Tunnera (Marlborough, MA) in 78th, each with under 30 paces to mark the 6k pace.

The Lancers are back in action next week as they head to UMass-Dartmouth for the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
