Lancers Compete to Top 25 Finish at Women's NCAA DIII Regional
Worcester, MA- In the final meet of the 2025 season, the Worcester State Women's Cross Country team travelled north to Hopkinton Fair Grounds in Hopkinton, NH to compete at the NCAA DIII New England Regional. Leading the Lancers was first Anna Serafini who finished in a time of 24:37 for 92nd.

Leading the Lancers was first year Anna Serafini (Leominster, MA) who finished in a time of 24:37 for 92nd.
Worcester State closed out its season on a strong note at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship, finishing 22nd overall while showcasing the depth, resiliency, and promising future of the program. The Lancers delivered a performance defined by steady pacing, pack running, and contributions from both seasoned veterans and rising first-year talents.
Right behind Serafini was senior leader Leah Berg (Worcester, MA), who closed out her collegiate career with a strong 24:57 for 104th. Berg's consistent presence and championship mindset once again anchored the Lancers' scoring five.
The senior duo of Bridget O'Malley (Leominster, MA) and Kelsey Gendreau (Seekonk, MA) followed next, placing 135th and 137th with times of 25:58 and 26:06. Both delivered controlled, determined efforts that helped solidify Worcester State's team standing.
Rounding out the scoring was first year Cadence Carr (Upton, MA), finishing 139th in 26:09, continuing her trend of steady improvement throughout the postseason. First-year Janine Betcher (Fontana, CA) added depth with a 27:08 for 160th, showing the program's promising pipeline of young talent.
With a balanced mix of veteran leadership and emerging first-year contributors, Worcester State's performance at Regionals marks a strong step forward. The Lancers not only held their own in an elite field but also showcased a foundation ready to rise even higher in the seasons ahead.
