WORCESTER, Mass. – 138 Worcester State University student-athletes were named to the Spring 2017 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Academic team, as announced by the MASCAC Commissioner, Angela Baumann, Thursday afternoon.

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s junior Sydney Despres (Sterling, Mass.) headlined the Worcester Area All-Star team as she was named the Co-Player of the Year with WPI’s Ama Biney. Also being named to the inaugural Worcester Area Softball All-Star first team was Rachel Couto (Chelmsford, Mass.), Courtney Salisbury (Cranston, R.I.), and Dakota Smith-Porter (Montague, Mass.).

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s Sydney Despres (Sterling, Mass.) and Rachel Couto (Chelmsford, Mass.) have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Region team, as announced by the association on Tuesday, May 16th.

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s senior third baseman, Rachel Couto (Chelmsford, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Year and heads the all-conference squad which is voted on by the coaches from around the conference.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The second seeded Westfield State University softball team scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth as the Owls rallied from a one run deficit to secure a 4-2 victory over fourth seeded Worcester State University in an elimination game of the 2017 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Championship Tournament at Maple Street Field.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Junior Dayna Marchant (East Bridgewater, Mass.) went 4-for-4 with two runs scored as the top seed Framingham State University softball team defeated No. 4 seed Worcester State University 6-2 in one quarterfinal of the 2017 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Championship Tournament at Maple Street Field.
