Personal:
Sydney was born in Salem, Mass...is majoring in business administration with a minor in communications at Worcester State and gradauted in 2024...now studying non-profit management in the Worcester State Master's Program...the daughter of Brandie Bakoian, who played Rugby at St. Anselms, and John Vautour...has two siblings, Cameron and Ava...favorite spot on campus is the Wellness Center...chose Worcester State for the coach and team, but also the great campus and small tight knit community

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- In a historic moment for the conference, Rivier’s Rebecca McKelvey and Worcester State’s Kelsey Czerniawski earn the first-ever MASCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Player and Defensive Player of the Year and headline the 2024-25 All-Conference team as voted on by the coaches from around the conference prior to the tournament.
Worcester, MA- In the final game of the regular season, and an out of conference breather before next Friday’s MASCAC semifinal game, the Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team (13-9-2, 10-3-2) travel to Connecticut College to close out the season.
Worcester, MA- In a crucial final conference game of the season tonight, the Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team (13-9-1, 10-3-1) look to grab the top spot in the inaugural MASCAC Post season tournament from Plymouth State. Currently the Panthers have a slight points edge over the Lancers, but a win in regulation would provide Worcester the number one seed in the tournament that starts next Wednesday.
Worcester, MA- In their second to last home game of the 2024-25 season the Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team (11-9-1, 8-3-1) will host MCLA in the Senior Night Celebration game while vying for final seeding in the postseason tournament. Being honored before tonight’s game are seniors Madison Robillard (Tewksbury, MA), Grace Laubenstein (Weymouth, MA) and Kiersten Erickson (Broomfield, CO) and along with fifth year seniors Sydney Vautour (Hamilton, MA) and Amy MacGlashing (Marlborough, MA).
Worcester, MA- Tonight’s Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey Game (9-9-1, 6-3-1) is being played in honor of sophomore Men’s Ice Hockey student-athlete Evan Armit, who was earlier this season diagnosed with Melanoma. Both programs have united around their support and raising awareness, and with the help of the Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund, designed Black Jersey’s to be worn during the game with donations and bids being accepted leading up to the game. Proceeds from tonight’s game will go to the Armit Family and the Rosen Fund, created by Gregg '86 and Pam '87 Rosen, which aims to provide a robust curriculum that supports peer to peer education regarding early cancer detection. Raising Awareness in our young people, particularly Worcester State students in the field of public health, can effectively expedite these important educational initiatives to curb the prevalence of late stage cancer and increase longevity.
Worcester, MA- As the regular season slowly rolls closer to a finish, the Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team (9-9-1, 6-3-1) closes out their season series with Framingham State tonight and look to claim the sweep of the season in a Friday night meeting. In the last meeting with the Rams, Worcester State held off a late charge to claim the 3-2 victory on the home sheet.
Worcester, MA- After a stretch of nearly a week since their last outing, the Lancers Women’s Ice Hockey team (7-8, 5-2) is back on home ice in a non-conference meeting with the Curry Colonels. Worcester is looking to get back into the win column after two tight loses in a row in the new week of action.
Worcester, MA- Coming off the end of a eight day stretch of tight competition, the Blue and Gold (7-7, 5-1) will take on conference foe Anna Maria Women’s Ice Hockey Saturday night. Anna Maria, coming off a pivotal conference win versus Plymouth State in shootouts earlier this week, is looking to put the Lancers on notice, but with a tough slate of challenges this week Worcester is set to meet the challenge.
Worcester, MA- With the return to home ice in 2025 on Tuesday, with a 3-2 conference win versus Framingham State, the Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team (7-6, 5-1) it set to make their mark Thursday night in a non-conference meeting with the #11 ranked Utica College Pioneers. Worcester just recently matched up with #3 Amherst this past weekend and are primed for their second ranked team in a week.
Worcester, MA- After a strong showing versus #3 Amherst College this past weekend, the Lancers (6-6, 4-1) are back to continue their conference dominance as they host Framingham State (0-10, 0-4) in just their second meeting. The Women’s Ice Hockey team claimed their first win against Framingham State earlier this season on the road with a 9-0 victory and look to continue their attacking success tonight.
Worcester, MA- In a return to 2025 ice, the Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team (5-5, 4-1) journey to Salem to face off with future MASCAC conference opponent Salem State. Salem is in their final year with the NEHC and will become members of the newly formed MASCAC Women’s Ice Hockey conference next season. Worcester looks to get back on their winning streak after a tough loss to round out 2024 at Castleton.
Worcester, MA- After over a week away from game day action, the Worcester Women’s Ice Hockey team (4-4, 4-1) is set to go for their fifth straight win tonight as they welcome the University of New England Nor’Easters to Fidelity Bank. This will be the first meeting between the two programs in the Lancers four years of action, with Worcester aiming to come out with the 1-0 advantage.
