Lancers Take the Victory over AMCATs on Senior Day
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Lacrosse team (7-5, 2-0) was back in conference action in the Saturday morning meeting with the Anna Maria AMCATs. The morning's action was also in honor of the 2026 senior class of Amanda Palmisano (Woburn, MA), McKayla Fisher (Peabody, MA), Shannon Donahue (Dennis, MA), Alli Guay (Westfield, MA), and Molly Witkowski (Greenville, NY).

How it Happened:
The first quarter started with Worcester State establishing an early advantage, scoring eight points without a response from Anna Maria. First-year Fallon Lozano (Upton, MA) started the scoring, which led to a continuous offensive attack that relied on effective teamwork and fast ball movement. Anna Maria faced some difficulties in matching Worcester State's quick playing style and their effective scoring methods during the start of the game.
The second quarter started with Worcester State maintaining its momentum from the first quarter, extending the Lancers' lead to 11-0 against Anna Maria. The Lancers maintained their good ball movement when first-year Maddison Szala (Taunton, MA) scored a goal after receiving a pass from fellow first-year Savannah Botthof (Chester, PA). Worcester State maintained control of the game when sophomore Kylee Fennelly (Weymouth, MA) and first-year Ciara Reilly (Wilbraham, MA) scored goals to complete their scoring run in the first half.
Worcester State extended its lead during the third quarter whenLozano scored her second goal after receiving an assist from Senior Molly Witkowski (Greenville, NY). Anna Maria found a brief spark with two goals from Megan Tegethoff, cutting slightly into the deficit. The Worcester State team responded quickly when first-year Meghan Heffernan (Westminster, MA) scored during the power play to increase the score to 13-2.
Worcester State closed out the game with a dominant fourth quarter, scoring three additional goals for a 16–2 victory over Anna Maria. Junior Kerry Brown (Billerica, MA) opened the scoring after receiving an assist from Witkowski, who maintained her exceptional playmaking performance throughout the match. Szala scored another goal during the power play, which first-year Thais Dos Santos (Saugus, MA) followed with the last goal in the final moments to complete the team's victory.

Worcester State Lacrosse (8-5, 3-0) returns to home field action on Wednesday at 6 pm when they welcome Framingham State to campus for their Ovarian Awareness game.
